Roses and Lace

This pretty blue lace top is great to wear during the spring and summer. It is very lightweight and can be styled with many different shorts, skirts, and pants. My favorite way to style it is with some edgier items such as studs and skulls.

For this look, I styled this top for work. When wearing shorts to teach in the summer, I always wear a type of dress shorts from Express or New York and Company. I decided to style a pair of black shorts against the light blue top for some contrast. This top is also very see-through due to the lace pattern so you have to wear something underneath it. I wore a matching blue tank top from Forever 21.

Since this top is slightly cropped, I was able to add a thin silver belt to my shorts as a fun accessory. I also wore my new powder blue studded sandals from Material Girl, which matched my top very nicely.


My favorite fun accessory to this look was these awesome striped rose sunglasses from Swatch. When my brother went to Switzerland back in May, he did some shopping at the Swatch store a got me a few pairs of sunglasses! One of the pairs is these fantastic black and white sunglasses with roses on them. They are a blast to wear and they fit really well. The print on them also reminds me of designs from Betsey Johnson.  


Pairing the rose sunglasses and a lace top kept the feminine vibe in this outfit going. However, I was also able to add my own edginess to this look with studded sandals and a skull bracelet. There is another cool aspect of these sunglasses that you will be able to read about and see in a post coming soon!
