I know it is officially fall, but I could not help myself from wearing this pretty floral dress. The weather is still in the eighties here, which I am totally fine with, so I was able to style this dress. I always think of September a transitional month since it is usually still very warm. I still like to style summer clothing this time of year and wear pieces that I did not wear as much as I wanted to over the summer.
I purchased this dress from the Express outlet in August. It was one of those situations where this dress was the only one on the rack and it was in my size so I course when that happens you have to buy it, right?!
There is a black dress built into the outside floral shell, so you do not have to worry about finding your own dress to wear underneath it. It is super lightweight and very comfortable.
For this look, I kept everything else very simple because this dress has a bold print on it. I wore a pair of black studded flip-flops and a black studded bracelet. I also wore black and white sunglasses and a dainty gold necklace.
I adore the print on this dress. The colors are so pretty and all of the different flowers are beautiful. You could also get away with styling a dress like this one in the fall. On a cooler day, you could wear a pair of tights with some black booties, throw on a black hat, maybe a black motto jacket over the dress and you are good to go!
You can also style a dress like this one up or down. Just by changing the shoes to a pair of nice heels or flats, you already had a dressier look. I wore this dress for a casual day out shopping but it could also be worn to event such as bridal or baby shower, a night out with friends, or even to a fun outdoor festival such as a wine festival.
Even though this dress would probably be considered more of a spring dress, I wanted to wear it before it got too cold out. If you have pieces of clothing like this one, make sure to style and wear it soon before you have to wait until next summer!
