Distressed clothing can be a lot of fun to wear and style. It’s rugged, edgy, and really gives you that rock n’ roll vibe. I wear a lot of distressed clothing but only during the appropriate situations. You do not want to show up to a job interview or a fancy event with a pair of ripped jeans on. There is a time and a place for every piece of clothing and distressed pieces are perfect for everyday casual wear.

I received this distressed long sleeve side zip sweater for Christmas from Express. It is definitely my new favorite sweater! It is so soft and comfortable. The best part of the sweater though is how distressed it is.

This sweater is available in five different colors. I am wearing this sweater in the color twilight blue, which is a great shade. Another great aspect of this sweater is that the side zippers actually work!

Since there are a lot of holes in this sweater, I would recommend wearing a shirt underneath it. I wore a simple black t-shirt underneath but a tank top, cami, or long sleeve shirt would work well too.

For my first time wearing this sweater, I styled it with a pair of grey jeans. Black, white, or denim jeans would go perfectly with this sweater as well. I also wore my favorite pair of Union Jack boots and matching red sunglasses.

Distressed sweaters are a lot of fun to wear and they are different than your usual pull over sweaters. The distressed details add a unique look to the sweater. Express has a lot of different types of distressed sweaters currently available. You can also find distressed sweaters at Forever 21 and H&M. Just remember to have fun styling them and pick the correct time and place to wear them.
