Spring Plaid

Spring Plaid

Happy Spring everyone! I am hoping the weather warms up soon so I can start wearing more spring clothing. Today I have a casual look that is easy to put together and fun to wear on a sunny spring day.

This plaid shirt is from Material Girl and I got it as a gift a few years ago. If you look at the front of the shirt, it looks like a normal plaid button down. However, once I turn around it becomes a lot more fun since there is a mesh heart on the back of the shirt.

I really enjoy this heart cut out on the back. It makes the shirt different and eye-catching. Many plaid shirts do not come like this, however, if you are feeling creative you could make your own! You can use fabric paint on the back of your plaid shirt to write a phase or draw an object, such as a heart. Or you could also use iron on patches and put them all over your shirt.

Since this shirt is so bold on its own, I kept my jeans and shoes pretty simple. I wore my favorite pair of black ripped studded jeans and my good old black Converse. My accessories were also simple; black and white sunglasses and a black and silver bracelet.

Even though it is officially spring, we are probably going to have to wear our jeans and long sleeve shirts for a little bit longer. Do not let that prevent you from wearing fun clothing though! Try spicing up a plaid shirt you might not wear anymore or find a few plaid button downs with cut outs on the back of them. You could even keep an eye out for plaid button downs in bright spring colors. Have fun and Happy Spring!
