Southwestern Fringe

DSC01060.JPGFringe has been very popular recently and I have seen it in a lot of stores. A huge amount of fringe is always seen during festival season, and a lot of people wear it to Coachella. Throughout the spring I have seen a lot of fringe pieces in different stores that caught my eye. A variety of stores have fringe jackets, vests, and purses such as Macy’s, Forever 21, Target, and Express. When I was shopping at Express a few weeks ago this black faux suede fringe vest caught my eye and I decided to purchase it.

This vest is super soft and comfortable! It comes in two different colors, pitch black, and red mahogany. I had a hard time deciding which one to purchase but I chose the black one since it will match a ton of outfits. This vest is very versatile and can be worn with jeans or shorts. You can style this vest during the fall, spring, and some of the summer.

My first time styling this vest was on a beautiful spring day so I decided to pair it with burgundy jeans and a white t-shirt. I really enjoy how the burgundy jeans look against this black fringe vest. This was definitely an outfit that needed to be paired with a hat so I chose a floppy black one from Express. I tied the whole look together with a pair of black shoes from Betsey Johnson.

As for my accessories I was inspired by Southwestern style so I chose two pieces of jewelry with turquoise in them. My mom bought me this necklace from Santa Fe, New Mexico and it was perfect for this look! It has turquoise, red, and white sugar skulls on it and it totally fits the vibe of this look. My aunt gave me this turquoise and red bracelet that matched my outfit and my necklace perfectly!

This faux suede fringe vest is currently the only fringe piece of clothing I have in my closet. I think I enjoy having fringe on clothing such as vests and jackets instead of purses. Express has a beautiful and soft fringe jacket that I am interested in as well. Fringe is a lot of fun to wear during this time of year and I have seen it available in many stores! If you are not a huge fan of fringe but would like to try styling a piece I would recommend starting with a vest since it can be styled many different ways.
