Skeleton Backs

Sweater season is in full swing, especially since yesterday was the first official day of winter! I love wearing sweater with unique prints or cut outs on them. One of my most recent posts features a sweater with skulls all over it that you can check out here. Sweaters with unique prints and unexpected cut outs are a lot of fun to wear and style. In this post I’m going to show you how I styled this cut out sweater from Express.

I purchased this sweater at Express in October. As soon as I saw the back of this sweater I fell in love with it and had to have it. From the front, this looks like any average black, v-neck sweater. However, when you turn around, you will find these awesome cut outs that to me resemble a spin and a rib cage. I love wearing unexpected cut outs such as this one.

I decided to keep my whole outfit black and white when I styled this sweater for the first time. I have worn this sweater many times since this look and have styled it with different pairs of colored jeans.
Since this sweater is open in the back I wore a white t-shirt underneath my sweater to keep me warm. I wore a pair of black and white striped jeans from Forever 21 and a pair of black studded shoes. I added a little pop of color with my necklace, sunglasses, and bracelet. All of these accessories are purple and I enjoy the way they look against all the black and white.

Next time you are out shopping, I would keep an eye out for cut out sweaters. I have seen many different forms of distressed sweaters at Express, Forever 21, and H&M. They are a lot of fun to wear and different than your average sweater. You just have to remember to wear another shirt underneath them if you want to stay warm!
