For as long as I can remember, one of my favorite things to wear is band tees. I have been collecting band tees for a very long time now and have a large variety of colors, lengths, and bands. Even though they are just t-shirts, there are many different ways you can style them.
I purchased this Mae t-shirt at their concert in Philly at the World Cafe Live back in 2010. Mae’s performance and the atmosphere at the concert were magical and I will never forget that night with my friends. If you have never listened to or heard of Mae, go check them out. This shirt it is comfortable and I love the way it fits. The styling possibilities are endless when it comes to a t-shirt like this one. Since it was not that hot the day I wore this shirt, I styled it with a pair of white capris.
You could also style a band tee like this one with shorts, jeans, or a skirt. In the cooler months, you can wear a blazer or cardigan over it. Depending on where you work, you might even be able to wear a pair of nice work shorts with this tee.
After pairing this Mae t-shirt with a pair of white capris, I knew this was the perfect outfit to wear my new blue and white Toms with. I purchased these Toms through a Nordstorm Rack sale last month and I love them. They are comfortable and lightweight just like all of my other pairs of Toms.
I added a little contrast of color with my accessories. I wore a pair of red sunglasses and a red and navy bangle. This bangle also has anchors on it that tie in with the sailboat theme on my shirt.
One of the reasons I love band tees so much is because they combine my love for music and fashion. I have always believed music and fashion go hand in hand and I enjoy expressing this through my clothing. Fashion is an expression of yourself and I love to express what my favorite bands are.
I also enjoy wearing band tees because of the memories they have. If you purchase a band tee at a concert, every time you wear this shirt you will most likely think of the fun you had with the people you were with.
No matter what kind of music you like or who your favorite artist is, expressing your love of music through fashion is always a great idea. Try styling some of your favorite band tees under flannels and jackets this fall.
