This was my “I really want it to be spring soon” outfit that I wore to a bridal shower/tea party a month ago. As you can tell there was still snow on the ground but that didn’t stop me from trying to bring a little bit of spring to the day. I love the floral skirt and the spring pastel colors this outfit has. I feel like I will get a lot of use out of this skirt this spring and summer. Not only is the pattern very spring appropriate, it is very versatile. I dressed this skirt up for this bridal shower and I also dressed it up on Easter with a white blouse. When it finally does get warmer out it can be dressed down with a tank top, no tights and a nice pair of sandals. The material of the skirt is also very comfortable. It is smooth and has a stretch to it, which I didn’t expect it to have when I first saw it on the rack.

Since it was very chilly to just wear short sleeves, this cropped black cardigan from Delia’s came in handy. The length of this cardigan was perfect for this outfit because I wanted stick with the cropped theme of the shirt. This cardigan is going to be perfect for all seasons. You can layer it in colder weather, wear it as your outer wear in the spring or wear it as a cover up on those chilly summer nights.

Black Cardigan- Delia’s (R.I.P.)

Pastel Purple Tank Top and Shirt- Forever 21

Skirt- Forever 21

Tights- Merona

Sandals- Material Girl

The pastel purple top I am wearing is actually a shirt layered over a tank top. They are the exact same color and material from Forever 21 and they layer well too! The only difference between the two is the shirt has sleeves and is cropped and the tank top is sleeveless and longer in length. Since the shirt is cropped, wearing this longer, flowing tank top underneath gave this outfit a dressier look versus wearing my standard tucked in tank top underneath the shirt. I love that the shirt and tank top combo turned out so well that it looks like one article of clothing. This is definitely a good idea for a more put together, dressier outfit look.

I also love, love, love this Betsey Johnson necklace! It matches the outfit very well and the rose gold chain is very pretty. To me this necklace has a very spring vibe to it and it also makes the think of Alice in Wonderland…I’m not really sure why, I guess maybe because of the clock on it reminding me of the White Rabbit holding a clock.

The tank top, shirt and skirt are all currently available at Forever 21. From what I can remember they also had the tank top and shirt in yellow, nude and a teal. They are all perfect for spring and summer; not only because of the colors but they are also very lightweight- perfect for hot days! They both layer very well together too!

Happy Spring!

-Caroline 🙂
